Send your regular reading logs home. Include a letter to the parents explaining that although your school has requested you use a new reading log, you feel that it is inadequately and improperly designed for their children.

Clearly state the reasons why you feel the new reading log is not good. I would also include an image of the new log in the letter (as a medium sized image, not it's own separate page lest they get confused and think their children have to fill out two reading logs).

Your principal is not the boss of you. Cover your ass with the letter and do what you feel is best for the students.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2939758422060084114.post-41525077517622489292009-02-07T21:04:00.000-05:002009-02-07T21:04:00.000-05:00Our school has an equally ridiculous reading log. ...Our school has an equally ridiculous reading log. It has just two lines for each day (one for home and one for school). Students are expected to read for 40 minutes a night. Well, low level readers will read several books in order to read for 40 minutes. Do they just record one book? Cram them all one one line? How can the teacher check when the system doesn't allow for it?Ms. Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07155034683547876756noreply@blogger.com
